14-year-old injured with sharp object at Brooklyn synagogue — Jerusalem Post
In Brooklyn, United States, a 14-year-old boy was injured with a sharp object inside the Orthodox Yeshiva Gevoah Toldos synagogue in the Borough Park neighborhood. The incident occurred on Monday evening.
Suspect detained
As the Jerusalem Post reports, New York police detained 22-year-old Shimon Kribus. According to police, he is also a member of the community of this synagogue.
Police said the boy was injured in the arm. Emergency medical service workers provided him with assistance directly at the scene. The same day, Kribus was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Cause of incident unclear
Police are not currently investigating the case as a hate crime. What exactly preceded the teenager's injury has not yet been established.
Borough Park is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods in the United States. According to the UJA-Federation of New York, about 96,000 Jews live there. In January, a series of antisemitic acts of vandalism was recorded in the neighborhood: more than 70 swastikas and Adolf Hitler inscriptions were painted in Gravesend Park and at a playground over two days.
