Two ATM bombings at gas stations reported in Soweto — TimesLIVE
In Soweto, South Africa, police are investigating two separate ATM bombings at gas stations that occurred on Wednesday morning. As TimesLIVE reports, no one was injured in either incident.
Bombing in Meadowlands
According to police, shortly after midnight, four armed men wearing balaclavas entered a shop at a gas station in the Meadowlands area. They reportedly chased away a filling station employee and a customer before blowing up two ATMs.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said money was scattered at the scene. According to her, the suspects likely fled in a brown Audi and a white Bantam.

Incident in Orlando West
The second incident occurred on Pela Street in the Orlando West area. About five armed masked people, according to police, blew up an ATM at another gas station.
Nevhuhulwi said that before fleeing in a dark Audi, the attackers reportedly fired into the air. Several taxis and part of the building were damaged. No arrests have been made in the case so far. Police urged people with information about the incidents or who could help establish the suspects' whereabouts to contact the Crime Stop line at 08600-10111.
