In the U.S., police canceled a New York Knicks fan event because of Trump — ESPN

The New York Police Department has officially canceled the public viewing of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, which was to be held outdoors near .

This decision was made by law enforcement agencies in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service to ensure security

The main reason for the unprecedented restrictions was U.S. President Donald Trump’s planned visit to the basketball game.

The decision to cancel the fan zone was announced less than a day before the start of the sporting event. The U.S. Secret Service insisted on minimizing crowds around the stadium due to the arrival of the American leader.

Basketball fans who had planned to support the team outside the media center are forced to change their plans.

The New York Knicks management has already reached out to fans who have tickets to the stands. They were strongly urged to arrive at the arena at least two hours before tip-off.

This is due to thorough and lengthy security checks at the entry points to Madison Square Garden.

Currently, the New York Knicks hold a significant advantage in the Finals and lead the series 2–0. The next game, which has generated such intense excitement, will take place on June 9, 2026.

Despite the cancellation of outdoor broadcasts, all eyes in the American sports media will be on this game.

ESPN reports on this.

Trump has stated his readiness to meet with Iran’s new supreme leader

Earlier, Iran launched a missile strike on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where American military personnel and contractors were stationed. The attack resulted in minor injuries among personnel and damage to U.S. drones. The incident occurred amid U.S. efforts to negotiate an extension of the ceasefire with Tehran.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is alive and continues to interact with those around him, though he does so cautiously and primarily through written messages and intermediaries. Officials in Washington note that his activity has been increasing recently.
