Sudan says RSF attack repelled in Blue Nile state — Anadolu Agency
Sudanese authorities said that government forces repelled an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the allied Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) in the areas of Makdja and Mada in the southeast of Blue Nile state.
Governor’s statement
Governor Bau Abdul Ghani Dakees Khalifa said that the army and allied forces confronted attacks by the RSF and SPLM-N. According to him, government forces forced the attackers to retreat, inflicting personnel and equipment losses on them. He did not specify the number of casualties.
Dakees also said that the security situation in the Bau area is stable and under control, while daily life in the city and administrative units continues as usual, Anadolu Agency reports.

Fighting in the state
According to the agency, fighting in Blue Nile state has intensified in recent days. The day before, the Sudanese army said it had ambushed RSF and SPLM-N forces in the Makra area. The military claimed it inflicted losses on the enemy and destroyed several military vehicles and pieces of equipment.
A day earlier, the army reported a preemptive attack south of the Al-Kayli area. It claimed that nine RSF combat vehicles were destroyed along with equipment during the operation.
The war between the Sudanese army and the RSF has continued since April 2023. According to estimates by the UN and international organizations, it has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people, while around 13 million people have been displaced or forced to leave the country.
