Value of goods in Sharjah–Oman corridor rises 66% — The National
In the UAE, the value of goods passing through the Sharjah–Oman logistics corridor increased by more than 66% in its first three months of operation, reaching 1.7 billion dirhams, or $463.21 million. The corridor was launched on May 17 by the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority jointly with Oman Customs to simplify cross-border transport, The National reports.
Truck traffic and customs clearance
More than 34,000 trucks used the route during its first three months of operation, while customs services processed more than 32,000 declarations. Sharjah Customs said the corridor operates under an integrated sea-land logistics model designed to facilitate trade and improve supply-chain efficiency.
The route offers importers, exporters, freight and logistics companies more flexible and competitive solutions. Cargo flows between the ports and logistics centres of Sharjah and Oman pass through the Khatmat Malaha border crossings in Kalba and Al Madam, and then continue to Oman.

Connections to Oman's ports
The corridor connects Sharjah and other UAE ports with the Omani ports of Sohar, Duqm and Salalah. According to Sharjah Customs, this opens two complementary routes for cargo depending on its destination and logistics requirements.
Mohammed Al Raisi, director of border crossings and entry points at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, said the initial results indicate that the project's concept has been successful. According to him, growth in trade and the number of customs operations, as well as the attraction of new clients, demonstrate demand for the corridor's logistics solutions.
As The National writes, carriers are making greater use of road routes through Oman and Saudi Arabia amid the Iran war and the effective halt of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz due to attacks on commercial vessels.
