"Grief tours" are gaining popularity around the world for those who are coping with loss
The popularity of so-called “grief tourism”—trips that help people cope with emotional trauma, the loss of loved ones, and emotional pain far from their everyday lives—is rapidly growing worldwide.

As the authors note, while people used to grieve primarily in solitude, an increasing number of travelers are now choosing to share the experience of loss. To do so, they participate in special retreats, therapeutic practices, and even themed cruises designed for those going through a difficult emotional period.
Such programs are designed to help people cope with emotional pain, trauma, and the loss of loved ones in a supportive group setting.
According to forecasts by the Global Wellness Institute, the global market for counseling and services related to grief could grow to $4.52 billion by 2029. For comparison: in 2022, this figure stood at $2.73 billion.
Experts attribute this growth to increased attention to mental health and emotional well-being.
Popular destinations for such trips include:
