Demand for family medicine

The largest number of applications was submitted for specialization in family medicine. This year, 46 residents enrolled in it, the highest figure ever.

The highest competition was for the maxillofacial surgery program, with nine candidates applying for one place. Significant demand was also recorded for dermatovenereology, pediatric surgery, and otorhinolaryngology.

Due to the increase in the number of residents, the University of Tartu is expanding its educational opportunities. To support residents, it is introducing a mentoring system and developing a digital e-portfolio learning environment.
