A protest against the war with Iran was violently dispersed in Tel Aviv

On the evening of April 4, Habima Square in Tel Aviv became the scene of fierce clashes between law enforcement officers and participants in a large-scale anti-war demonstration.

This was reported by The Times of Israel.

Despite a recent Supreme Court ruling intended to limit the use of force during small rallies, the police response was unexpectedly harsh.

The conflict erupted just as the Israeli judiciary is considering the complex issue of the limits of citizens’ right to protest under martial law.

The police officially declared the rally illegal, claiming that the number of people present in the square exceeded the statutory limit of 600.

The situation escalated into physical confrontation after mounted police units were deployed to the square.

Security forces began actively pushing protesters back from their positions, using special equipment and physical force to completely clear the area of activists.

The main demand of the protesters was an immediate halt to the escalation of the conflict with Iran and a review of the current strategy of Benjamin Netanyahu’s military cabinet.

Protesters expressed concern that further expansion of hostilities would lead to catastrophic consequences for regional security.

Political opponents of the current government and representatives of the liberal opposition have already sharply criticized the actions of law enforcement agencies.

Human rights activists accuse police leadership of deliberately ignoring court orders and making systematic attempts to suppress freedom of speech under the guise of war.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy explained why Israel was not included in the international tour.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a strategically important meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan, focusing on strengthening security partnerships.

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during his visit to the Middle East, he reached an agreement on the supply of diesel fuel to Ukraine for at least one year.

Zelenskyy also signed an agreement with Qatar on missile defense.
