Six green projects worth over $400 million signed in Tianjin — ECNS

In Tianjin, China, six key projects in the green industry sector with a total value of more than 2.9 billion yuan, or about $400 million, were signed on September 16. The agreements were concluded within the China–Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Green Industry Cooperation Zone.

Event in Tianjin

The signing took place during an event for exchanging experience and presenting the results of cooperation between China and SCO member states in the green industry sector. As ECNS reports, more than 500 representatives of over 240 industry associations, universities, research institutions and companies took part in the event.

The participants also signed a framework agreement to strengthen coordination between China–SCO cooperation platforms and centers. The event was aimed at establishing interaction among government authorities, businesses, academia, research institutions, financial organizations and other sectors to develop cooperation between SCO member states.

Reports and information network

During the meeting, nine reports on green industry development in SCO member states were presented, and an information network for China–SCO cooperation in this field was launched.

The China–SCO Green Industry Cooperation Zone is located in the Ziya Economic-Technological Development Zone in Tianjin. This zone is transitioning from raw material processing to advanced manufacturing and plans to deepen cooperation with SCO countries in the areas of recyclable resources, standards, trade and industrial development.
