A Ukrainian crime boss was arrested in Warsaw
Polish law enforcement officials, in cooperation with the Internal Security Agency, carried out a successful operation to apprehend a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen who holds the status of a "thief-in-law."
The man was found in a hotel in Warsaw’s Wola district, where he had been hiding while wanted internationally.
The detainee held a high-ranking position within post-Soviet organized crime structures. The investigation established that he had previously served time for committing serious crimes, including murder.
His criminal activities were closely linked to his involvement in internal conflicts between influential criminal groups.
“As a result of operational measures, law enforcement officers established his temporary whereabouts,” the Warsaw Police officially reported.
In addition to his criminal past, the Ukrainian violated the rules of stay in the country by residing in Poland illegally.
After completing all necessary procedural steps, the detainee was handed over to the Border Guard Service.
Polish authorities have already decided to forcibly deport the man and imposed a long-term ban on his entry into Schengen Zone countries.
As a reminder, a former Interior Ministry official was detained in Kyiv for selling rights for $2,300.
Russian saboteurs were also detained in Germany and Spain.
