In Washington, ahead of King Charles III's visit, the Australian and British flags were mixed up

In the U.S. capital, Australian flags were mistakenly displayed instead of British ones ahead of a visit by King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to the agency, among more than 230 British flags near the White House, there were 15 Australian ones. The mistake was quickly discovered and corrected by replacing the flags.

District of Columbia officials explained that the incident occurred due to a technical error.

It is noted that Charles III is also formally the King of Australia, though this role is largely ceremonial.

The British monarch’s visit to the U.S. will begin on April 27 and will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. This will be his first visit to the United States.

The main goal of the trip is expected to be strengthening relations between the two countries, which have recently been strained.

King Charles III made a surprise visit to a small shop in Scotland where he used to go as a child. His appearance came as a surprise to local residents and caused quite a stir in the town.

King Charles III and the Queen will visit the United States in late April, despite tensions over the situation in the Middle East.
