An OSCE meeting on the Russian shelling of Kyiv on May 24 was held in Vienna

An emergency meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) was held in Vienna on May 26, convened at Ukraine’s request in response to the massive shelling of Kyiv on the night of May 24.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga announced this on his page on social media platform X.

According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, during the joint meeting, diplomats discussed in detail the issue of Russia’s massive missile and drone attacks against Ukraine, as well as the latest aggressive threats from Moscow. OSCE participating States issued a strong condemnation of Russian terror and officially reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to continued comprehensive support for the Ukrainian state.

Andriy Sybiga separately emphasized that despite all the Kremlin’s obvious attempts to intimidate Ukrainian officials and foreign diplomats, the international community is demonstrating solidarity and stands firmly on Ukraine’s side.

Ukraine initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council and an emergency meeting of OSCE bodies following the massive Russian attack on May 24.

The emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, convened due to the sharp escalation of Russian airstrikes on peaceful Ukrainian cities, will take place this Thursday, May 28. The Ukrainian delegation submitted a request to China’s Permanent Representative Fu Cong, whose country currently holds the Security Council presidency.
