23-year-old Israeli dies in motorcycle crash in Vietnam

A 23-year-old Jerusalem resident, David Ben Lulu, who held Israeli and French citizenship, died in a motorcycle accident in Vietnam. This was reported by the Jerusalem Post, citing the ZAKA organization.

Coordination between countries

Due to the deceased's dual citizenship, coordination between Vietnamese, French and Israeli authorities is required to transport his remains to Israel and arrange his burial.

ZAKA France commander Serge Ben Haim stated that since receiving information about the incident, the organization has been working with authorities in France, Vietnam and Israel. According to him, he arrived at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the team in Hanoi was given the necessary instructions.

Ben Haim also said that ZAKA maintains direct contact with the French consulate and the deceased's family. The French consulate in Hanoi opened specifically to expedite the processing of documents.

Transportation of the remains

David Ben Lulu's remains are hundreds of kilometers away from Hanoi. ZAKA is working to arrange transportation to Israel as soon as possible.

ZAKA vice president of operations Chaim Weingarten called the case complex, as it requires cooperation between services from several countries. According to him, ZAKA's international unit, together with ZAKA France and the family, is trying to overcome procedural difficulties and expedite the transportation for burial in Israel.
