Two veterans were arrested in the Voronezh region on charges of kidnapping
Two participants in the war against Ukraine—Daniil Astakhov and Vitaly Borisov—have been arrested in the Voronezh region in connection with a case involving kidnapping and extortion.
This was reported by Russian media, citing court documents.
In total, seven people aged 22 to 37 were detained in connection with the case, three of whom had prior convictions. According to the investigation, last year in the city of Rossosh, the suspects used violence to kidnap a 17-year-old teenager and a woman. To secure their release, the boy handed over his belongings, and the woman paid 100,000 rubles.
Law enforcement officers conducted more than 20 searches in the Voronezh and Ulyanovsk regions. Currently, investigators are examining the group’s involvement in other crimes, including assaults and extortion on a particularly large scale.
