Hungarian Prime Minister Criticizes the EU for Bureaucracy and a Lack of Leadership — Euronews
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that the European Union lacks political leadership and that excessive bureaucracy hinders the implementation of important initiatives.
According to him, Brussels should focus on real problems, particularly economic competition with China. While the EU is preoccupied with institutional issues, Beijing is preparing to invest in the construction of nuclear power plants and automobile factories in Europe.
Mátyás also criticized the fines imposed on Hungary over its migration policy. He stated that the country is forced to pay €1 million per day for failing to comply with a ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union.
“We must decide whether the European Union wants merely to survive or to succeed,” the Hungarian prime minister said.

On Monday, August 24, a Hungarian Air Force Gripen fighter jet crashed near the Hungarian city of Szolnok. The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
