Ukraine and South Korea are preparing for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Lee Jae-myung
Efforts are underway to organize a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga made this statement during his visit to South Korea.
The foreign minister emphasized Seoul’s strong interest in Ukraine’s reconstruction, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. During talks with his South Korean counterpart, Cho Hyun, they also discussed minimizing the risks posed by the participation of North Korean military personnel in the war on the side of Russia and limiting Pyongyang’s ability to circumvent sanctions.
In addition, the parties raised the issue of simplifying travel for Ukrainians and received confirmation of continued humanitarian aid from the Republic of Korea.

South Korea and Ukraine are preparing for talks on the transfer to Seoul of two North Korean prisoners of war who are currently on Ukrainian territory. Discussions on this issue are scheduled to take place during a meeting on June 30 between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun.
Earlier, during the opening of a memorial to fallen soldiers, the North Korean leader stated that soldiers who blew themselves up to avoid capture had demonstrated “the highest devotion.” In North Korea, such actions are now officially presented as examples of heroism in the war against Ukraine.
