The Ukrainian community in Israel discussed ways to counter Russia's shipment of stolen grain
On May 13, a meeting was held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv between Yevhen Korniychuk, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Israel, and representatives of the Ukrainian community and volunteers. The participants discussed priorities for future cooperation, the work of the diaspora, and consular issues.
Special attention was paid to countering Russia’s illegal export and supply of Ukrainian agricultural products from the temporarily occupied territories. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel:
The Ambassador briefed the participants on the measures taken by the Embassy, as well as the results of cooperation with Israeli law enforcement agencies aimed at preventing the import into Israel of agricultural products originating from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and preventing similar cases in the future.
Participants also discussed coordinating efforts within the Forum of Pro-Ukrainian Organizations, as well as current issues regarding consular services, including steps toward their digitalization and proposals to expand the geographic reach of mobile consular services in Israel. Plans for the development and expansion of Ukrainian community centers in various regions of the country were also discussed separately.
“The synergy between the diplomatic mission and the community is the foundation of our resilience. Constructive dialogue allows us to adapt the Embassy’s work to the real needs of citizens,” noted Yevhen Korniychuk.

As a reminder, Israel has called on Ukraine to provide evidence regarding the stolen grain.
In turn, Ukraine is asking Israel to seize the ship carrying the stolen grain, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Later, the ship carrying the stolen Ukrainian grain left Israel.
