Ukrainian heavyweight boxing world champion Oleksandr Usyk commented on his official meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The athlete expressed his gratitude to the American leader for the invitation and emphasized the special role of sports diplomacy in the world.
The meeting between the outstanding Ukrainian boxer and the President of the United States took place last week at the U.S. President’s official residence in Washington.
Oleksandr Usyk decided to publicly share his impressions of the visit and posted a message on his Instagram page.
Our champion emphasized that such events help build strong ties between different countries.
“Meeting with the President of the United States at the White House. Thank you for the invitation, hospitality, and warm welcome. Sports truly unite people, strengthen respect, and bring cultures together. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to meet and speak in person,” Oleksandr Usyk emphasized in his official statement.
This ceremonial reception at the White House took place against the backdrop of yet another spectacular success for the Ukrainian on the global sports stage. As a reminder, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Dutchman Rico Verhoeven in a bout for the WBC championship belt.
