Construction of aircraft maintenance center completed at Chongqing airport — ECNS
The T3B project, a complex for aircraft maintenance, has been completed at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. Construction was carried out by China Railway First Group Co., Ltd., and the facility is expected to be put into full operation in the near future, ECNS reports.
Components of the complex
The total area of the project is 31,203.44 square meters. It includes a maintenance hangar, auxiliary buildings, an office complex, a hazardous materials warehouse for lubricants and chemicals, as well as external infrastructure facilities.
The main structure of the complex is a hangar with a lattice shell. Its clear span is 119 meters, while its depth is 93 meters. This made it possible to create more than 10,000 square meters of column-free space inside the hangar.

Hangar capabilities
The hangar can simultaneously service one wide-body aircraft and two narrow-body aircraft. The structure’s roof weighs more than 1,800 tonnes and is equipped with intelligent operation and maintenance systems to improve safety.
ECNS calls the facility the largest and most intelligent integrated aircraft maintenance complex in Chongqing. According to the outlet, completion of the project is expected to strengthen the operational support capabilities of Jiangbei International Airport.
