A truck carrying refugees overturned in Afghanistan
A major traffic accident involving a truck carrying passengers occurred in eastern Afghanistan. The truck, carrying Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan, overturned on the road. At least 18 people were killed in the accident, and another 35 were injured. Most of the victims were women and children.

The accident occurred in Laghman Province on the main highway connecting Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, with Nangarhar Province.
According to local authorities, the dead included 10 children and five women. The injured were taken to hospitals in Nangarhar Province for medical treatment.
Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and expressed his sorrow over the tragedy.
