Two tourists from Germany died in the Austrian Alps
Two separate fatal accidents occurred in the Austrian Alps, resulting in the deaths of two tourists from Germany.
In one of the incidents, in the state of Vorarlberg, a man fell from a height of about 100 meters after losing his balance while unfastening his safety equipment. According to police, before the climb, he complained of severe fatigue and admitted that he had underestimated the difficulty of the route.
Another incident occurred in the Ötztal Alps in Tyrol. While descending from the Wildspitze mountain, a 63-year-old climber fell from a height of about 200 meters. He was part of a group led by a mountain guide, but his injuries proved fatal.
The bodies of the victims were evacuated by a police helicopter.
