Iran has outlined the terms for negotiations with the U.S. regarding the Strait of Hormuz
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran does not trust the United States and is prepared to negotiate with Washington only if the talks are genuinely serious.
He made these remarks during a conversation with journalists, Reuters reports.
According to Araghchi, all ships are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, except for those at war with Iran. He also noted that ships planning to transit the strait must coordinate their movements with the relevant naval authorities.
The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that conflicting signals from the U.S. undermine trust and cast doubt on Washington’s true intentions regarding the negotiations.
At the same time, he stated that the mediation process involving Pakistan has not been derailed, but it is in a difficult state. According to him, Iran is trying to adhere to the ceasefire to give diplomacy a chance, but reserves the right to resume hostilities if necessary.
Iranian authorities have begun granting permission to select Chinese vessels to pass through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, the U.S. military struck the vessel Touska, which was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the Iranian flag despite the blockade.

Official Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.
