Fire near railway tracks in London halts trains to Heathrow
In London, a fire near railway tracks in the Paddington area caused major disruptions to train services, including the cancellation of connections to Heathrow Airport. The fire led to a power supply disruption, as a result of which services on all lines between Paddington and the airport were blocked, The Guardian reports, citing National Rail.
Heathrow connection suspended
Heathrow Express operator said that trains are not running in either direction between Paddington and Heathrow. At the airport, passengers were advised to allow extra time for their journey. At the same time, delays are being recorded on the Piccadilly line, which also provides a connection to the airport.
According to Transport for London, Elizabeth line services are suspended between Paddington and Heathrow Terminals 4 and 5, as well as between Paddington and Reading. There are significant delays on the route towards Abbey Wood.

Cancellations and delays
National Rail warned that train cancellations and delays are expected at least until 19:15. Great Western Railway cancelled services to Reading and said that trains may be cancelled, delayed, or terminate and start their journeys at Reading. The company expected disruptions until 19:00.
Transport for London also reported significant delays across the entire Piccadilly line due to an earlier incident involving an unauthorized person entering the tracks area near Hammersmith. Photos showing large plumes of smoke over the Paddington area were shared on social media.
