Three stolen paintings by famous artists have been returned to Italy
Italian Carabinieri have recovered three paintings by Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir that were stolen several months ago from an art collection near Parma.
The works in question are Cézanne’s “Still Life with Cherries,” Matisse’s “Odalisque on a Terrace,” and Renoir’s “Fish.” The total value of the paintings exceeds 9 million euros.
The artworks were discovered during searches conducted as part of an investigation by the Parma Public Prosecutor’s Office. They were stolen on the night of March 23 from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation in Mamiano.

Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation and working to determine the circumstances of the theft.

As a reminder, a film about the high-profile Louvre heist will be shot in France.
In France, a fragment of the Eiffel Tower’s original staircase was sold at auction for 450,000 euros. It is part of the historic structure that once connected the floors of the legendary “Iron Lady.” The lot had been in a private collection for over 40 years and caused a real stir among collectors.
