Italy Responds to Trump's Latest Attack on Meloni
The Italian government responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest attacks on Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, stating that they would not affect relations between the two countries.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized that Rome does not intend to respond to such statements, and that the strategic partnership with the U.S. remains unchanged. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto expressed a similar position, stressing that the alliance is more important than the statements of individual politicians.
The day before, Trump posted a photo of Giorgia Meloni on Truth Social with the caption “A restraining order is needed,” continuing the public dispute that arose after the G7 summit.
