Calls are growing in Italy to cancel Kanye West's concert amid scandals

Pressure is mounting in Italy to cancel the concert by American rapper Kanye West, scheduled for July 18 in Reggio Emilia.

This is reported by Euronews.

The artist is set to headline the Hellwat festival, but the Jewish community, labor unions, anti-fascist organizations, and politicians have spoken out against his participation.

European Parliament Vice President Pina Picerno has called on the government to intervene. She emphasized that other countries have already restricted the artist’s performances—specifically, he was denied a visa in the UK, and his concert in France was effectively canceled.

Critics note that holding the concert contradicts the city’s anti-fascist values. The main cause of outrage was West’s previous anti-Semitic remarks, as well as his public actions involving Nazi symbols.

At the same time, the festival organizers insist on freedom of creative expression and point out that the artist has previously apologized for his statements, attributing them to mental health issues.

The final decision on whether to hold the concert is to be made by Italian authorities.

In Poland, organizers decided to cancel a concert by American rapper Kanye West, which was scheduled to take place in the city of Chorzów. The decision was prompted by public outcry and scandals surrounding his previous statements linked to Nazism and anti-Semitic remarks. The final decision was made by stadium management.

American rapper Kanye West is suspected of assaulting a man at the Chateau Marmont, a hotel in West Hollywood. According to media reports, the incident occurred while the victim was unconscious.
