In Israel, 40-year-old teacher wounded in shooting at school parking lot
In the town of Hura, northeast of Beersheba in Israel, a 40-year-old teacher was wounded by gunfire on Thursday morning in a parking lot near a school. Students were nearby during the shooting, The Jerusalem Post reports.
Condition of the injured man
Paramedics from the Magen David Adom service arrived at the scene and provided the victim with initial medical assistance. He was later taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba for further treatment.
According to Magen David Adom, the injured man's condition was assessed as moderate at the time of hospitalization.

Classes temporarily suspended
Following the incident, the school temporarily suspended classes and issued a statement condemning violence. The educational institution described the event as extremely serious and stressed that the school must be a protected and safe space.
The statement also said that harming a teacher or another staff member is an attack on the education system. It added that violence is not a way to resolve disputes and cannot be acceptable under any circumstances. The identity of the shooter and the motives for the shooting had not been established at the time of publication.
