Man charged in Israel with adding medication to baby food
In Israel, state prosecutors have charged 41-year-old Yan Shemla in a case involving the alleged addition of crushed prescription medication to jars of baby food. According to the Jerusalem Post, the indictment alleges that he placed these jars on supermarket shelves in Jerusalem.
Five children hospitalized
According to the prosecution, five young children were poisoned as a result and hospitalized. They included two infants under one year old.

Two supermarket incidents
The indictment was filed with the Jerusalem District Court. It sets out the state prosecution's position regarding two incidents in May and June involving Prinok fruit and vegetable puree. According to the prosecution, the products were sold at two branches of the Zol Begadol chain on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem.
Prosecutors also petitioned the court to keep Shemla in custody until the conclusion of the proceedings in the case.
