Magen David Adom resumes mobile sukkah on ambulance in Israel — Jerusalem Post
In Israel, Magen David Adom is holding the “Mitzvah on Wheels” initiative for the fifth consecutive year: a sukkah is placed on the back of an ambulance. The Jerusalem Post reports.
Visits to Magen David Adom units
Throughout Sukkot, Rabbi Yonatan Spitzer will travel around the country in an ambulance with a sukkah and visit Magen David Adom facilities. The organization’s teams will be able to recite a blessing over the arba minim — the four species of plants associated with the holiday.

An initiative from the pandemic period
Spitzer, who is a volunteer driver for Magen David Adom, launched the initiative in 2020 during COVID-19-related lockdown restrictions. According to him, people could not leave their homes because of the restrictions, and the idea was to bring the holiday atmosphere to emergency medical workers and paramedics working in the field.
The rabbi said he did not expect the project to become a tradition. He also stressed that he seeks to give as many people as possible the opportunity to fulfill the commandment associated with the four species of plants.
