KAN 11 news director איציק Barashi died in Israel following a bicycle accident on Highway 44. He was 56, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing KAN News.

KAN News management expressed condolences over Barashi's death. In a company statement, he was described as one of the professional and talented news directors.
Barashi joined the public broadcasting corporation almost from the time of its establishment in 2018. KAN News said that he oversaw broadcasts with professionalism and dedication both during ordinary periods and during the war.

The company also expressed condolences to Barashi's wife, Shirley, his children Keren, Roy and Itay, as well as other relatives, friends and colleagues. The date and other details of the funeral have not yet been released.
Medical assistance
According to Maariv, the accident occurred while Barashi was riding on the highway with a group of friends. A paramedic from Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service who worked at the scene said the cyclist was found unconscious on the road with a severe head injury.
Medics provided him with assistance, including respiratory support, bandaging and medication. Barashi was taken to the intensive care unit at Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital, where his death was later pronounced.
