Britain honors memory of three-year-old Noah Woods — The Guardian
In the United Kingdom, players of Everton and Ipswich Town honored the memory of three-year-old Noah Woods, whose body was found after a search in Suffolk. Before the teams’ match in Liverpool, the footballers took to the pitch wearing black armbands, while a photograph of the boy was shown on the stadium’s big screen.
In the third minute of the game, supporters of both clubs stood and applauded in Noah’s memory. According to The Guardian, the boy went missing on Tuesday after visiting a playground in Brantham. Suffolk Police said that he had become separated from a relative.
Searches in Suffolk
About 1,300 members of the public joined the search operation. On Wednesday, police divers recovered a child’s body from a lake nearby.

On Thursday, the boy’s father, Rhys Woods, published a message in a local Facebook group, saying that the family was deeply grieving the loss of their son. He called Noah the sweetest and most innocent boy and said that the family would miss him greatly.
Support for the family
Ipswich Town captain Dara O’Shea and goalkeeper Christian Walton, as part of a club delegation, laid flowers near the playground where the child disappeared. Team defender Leif Davis, who took part in the search, donated £2,000 to a fundraiser for the Woods family.
The fundraiser was organized by the Good Dads Club, a group of parents from Colchester in Essex. By Saturday evening, it had raised more than £100,000 from over 6,000 donors. Suffolk Police said they do not consider the child’s death suspicious, but still need to complete a number of checks before referring the case to the coroner.
