Monaco is investigating the possibility that the SBU was involved in the incident involving Yermolayev

Investigators in Monaco are considering the possibility that the Security Service of Ukraine may have been involved in the explosion at a residential building that injured Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev and his family. However, there is currently no official confirmation of this theory.

During a press conference on June 30, Monaco’s Attorney General Stéphane Thibault stated that law enforcement officials, in cooperation with their French counterparts, are continuing an active search for the suspect.

According to him, an arrest could take place in the near future, as significant resources have been deployed for the operation.

To support the investigation, France has deployed about 40 gendarmes and two helicopters to the area where the explosion occurred.

According to preliminary information, the suspect most likely left Monaco and headed for Italy.

The prosecutor noted that the official identification of the suspect is still ongoing and declined to comment on whether he had any accomplices or organizers.

According to information obtained by Le Figaro from several independent sources, the main working theory of the investigation is that this may have been an operation organized by the SBU.

At the same time, the publication notes that investigators are leaning toward the view that the explosion may have been a “warning” rather than an assassination attempt.

Monaco’s law enforcement agencies have not officially confirmed this information.

On June 29, at around 9:00 p.m., an explosion occurred in a residential building in Monaco, injuring three people, two of whom sustained serious injuries.

According to media reports, among the victims were Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev, who is subject to sanctions, and his relatives.

Following the incident, law enforcement launched a large-scale operation to locate the man who, according to surveillance camera footage, planted the explosive device. It is currently believed that he may have left Monaco and traveled to France.

This was reported by the French newspaper Le Figaro, citing several independent sources.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ukrainian Embassy in France are working to identify the three victims of the high-profile explosion in Monaco, who, according to media reports, are Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev—who is subject to sanctions—and his relatives.
