A major Russian software developer has announced mass layoffs due to losses
The Russian company "New Cloud Technologies," known under the brand name "MyOffice," has announced large-scale staff cuts amid significant financial losses.
According to reports, a letter from CEO Vyacheslav Zakorzhevsky was sent to employees on March 23.
In the letter, he noted that in 2025, the company faced “serious financial difficulties: the volume of key business areas has declined, and the current model requires significant changes to ensure sustainability.”
In light of this, the company plans to restructure and review its product portfolio to focus resources on the most promising areas.
Employees affected by the layoffs will be notified via email within two weeks. The company currently employs over 1,000 people.
According to financial reports, in 2023–2024, “MyOffice” incurred losses totaling approximately 6.2 billion rubles. Figures for 2025 have not yet been released.
The company develops office software as an alternative to Western products, including equivalents to Word, Excel, and email services.
It should be noted that the actual poverty rate in Russia may be significantly higher than official figures and approach 40% of the population.
