Vance, Rubio, and Hegset arrived at the White House amid the breakdown of negotiations with Iran
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance arrived at the White House to attend a meeting, while his planned visit to Pakistan for talks with Iranian officials remains in doubt.
Vance was expected to depart for Islamabad on Tuesday morning, but the trip has been put on hold, according to CNN. U.S. officials are currently holding a meeting to determine the next course of action.
Along with Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pentagon Chief Pete Hagset arrived at the White House. The participation of key leaders from the foreign policy and defense departments indicates discussions regarding the crisis situation as the ceasefire with Iran nears its end.
According to media reports, the U.S. administration is awaiting signals from Tehran regarding its readiness for a second round of negotiations.
