Vance defends restrictions on CNN, MS NOW and Politico — Anadolu Agency
In the United States, Vice President J.D. Vance defended the decision by President Donald Trump’s administration to restrict CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists’ access to the White House. He said the outlets are not being banned from covering the administration’s work, but are being deprived of special access to the White House.
Media lawsuit against the administration
CNN, MS NOW and Politico filed a lawsuit against President Trump and his administration. The media outlets claim that the restrictions violate their rights guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
According to Anadolu Agency, Vance denied that Trump had prohibited these outlets from operating. He said the outlets can continue publishing materials about the administration, receiving public reports, and communicating with officials and other people outside the White House.

Vice president’s arguments
Vance said that approximately 92% of the three outlets’ materials about Trump and his administration are negative in nature. He argued that such coverage does not reflect the views of the American public and called it essentially ultra-left propaganda.
The vice president also said that the decision concerns access to the White House itself, rather than the media’s right to publish news. According to him, the outlets will no longer have an office at the White House.
Last week, Trump barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists from entering the White House complex. On Saturday morning, security personnel denied entry to representatives of all three outlets in accordance with this order.
