Pakistan’s Election Commission to switch to a digital work system by the end of December
As Dawn reports, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) plans to switch to a fully digital office work system and establish an artificial intelligence unit by the end of December 2026. Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja announced this in Islamabad on Monday.
Digital office and new website
During a meeting chaired by Raja, he was briefed on the commission’s Digital Office, also known as E-Office, the use of artificial intelligence tools, and the launch of the commission’s new website. Raja instructed the creation of an AI unit to provide technical support to the commission’s various departments.

Purpose of the innovations
According to the chief election commissioner, the purpose of the innovations is to strengthen the institution’s capabilities through innovation and ensure the uninterrupted handling of daily official matters.
