Video: A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Haifa following shelling

A fire broke out at an oil refinery in Haifa following a rocket attack by Iran and the Hezbollah group. The fire was captured on video, which was broadcast on Israeli television. It is currently unknown whether the rocket struck the facility directly.

The fire broke out at the Bazan oil refinery in Haifa following another attack by Iran and Hezbollah. Footage from the scene was shown by Israeli Channel 12—the footage shows flames and smoke rising above the refinery grounds.

Bazan oil refinery in Haifa, Israel has been destroyed by Iranian missile attack. Currently on fire.

There is no clear answer yet as to what exactly caused the fire. According to preliminary information, the plant may have been damaged either by a direct missile strike or by debris from air defense systems. No official confirmation regarding the extent of the damage or casualties has been received so far. It is also unclear whether the plant’s operations were halted following the incident.

This attack is part of a new wave of shelling amid escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and allied groups. Infrastructure facilities, particularly energy facilities, are increasingly coming under attack. “Footage shows intense flames on the factory grounds,” Israeli media report.

“It is not yet clear whether this was a direct hit or the result of a missile interception,” journalists add. The situation around Haifa remains tense, and details regarding the attack’s consequences are still being clarified.

Additionally, the small island of Khark is key to Iran’s economy. About 90% of all Iranian oil exports pass through it. Any strike on this location could sharply escalate the situation and affect not only Iran but also the global market.

Currently, the number of U.S. troops in the Middle East already exceeds 50,000, which is 10,000 more than usual. Typically, there are about 40,000 U.S. troops stationed at bases and aboard ships in the region—including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.

The United States is stepping up pressure on Tehran, forcing the Iranian leadership to seek avenues for negotiations on Washington’s terms.

As a reminder, Trump stated that Iran had offered him the position of supreme leader.

Trump also mentioned the possibility of seizing Iranian oil and the island of Kharg.
