Video: Putin Calls an Emergency Meeting Over Fuel Shortages in Russia
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a special meeting to address fuel supply issues in the country. During the meeting, he acknowledged the difficulties in securing fuel supplies and instructed the government to take measures to stabilize the situation.
According to Putin, the fuel shortage is allegedly linked to Ukraine’s actions, which, he claims, are intended to disrupt the resort season in Russia.
Russian officials were instructed to expedite a solution to the problem and ensure the stable operation of the fuel market.
In particular, Putin ordered that fuel be supplied as quickly as possible to the temporarily occupied Crimea, criticizing officials for delaying decisions.
“Decisions must be made more quickly, rather than merely ‘expressing a willingness to consider’ them,” he said.
According to the dictator, government agencies, security forces, and law enforcement must be supplied with fuel first and foremost, but ordinary Russians should not experience shortages either. Putin also stated that the current problems are temporary and attributed them to Ukraine’s actions.
“The fuel difficulties are temporary. They are also linked to the enemy’s desire to disrupt the vacation season. Kyiv wants to harm Russia’s economy, but above all, to create anxiety in society,” he asserted.
At the same time, the Kremlin leader assured that Russia’s energy sector has “ample reserves,” so, in his words, Ukraine will not achieve its goal.
During the meeting, Putin also instructed major oil companies to step up fuel supplies to independent gas stations, and Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to regularly report to him and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the situation in the fuel market.
