Video: Putin Sends the Relics of Dmitry Donskoy to the Special Military Operation to Defeat the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Russian propagandists reported that their dictator, Vova Putin, took part in the desecration of the grave of the Old Russian prince Dmitry Donskoy, who in 1389 defeated Mamai’s Horde on the Kulikovo Field. Putin wants Donskoy’s remains to help defeat the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This is according to Russian propaganda media.
The propagandists report that on August 20, Putin took part in a prayer service at the Archangel Cathedral in the Kremlin, where the relics of Dmitry Donskoy had been “discovered” two days earlier. In footage released by the Kremlin press service, Putin is seen holding a candle near the altar, crossing himself during a prayer service for the “victorious army,” “the Russian nation, and the president,” and then examining two open tombs containing the remains, which are covered with cloth.
The Russian Orthodox Church announced on August 18 the “miraculous” discovery of the relics of Dmitry Donskoy, who was canonized in 1988. A TASS source reported that in the Archangel Cathedral, the floor and the brick tombs of the crypt were dismantled, after which the remains were found “complete, with the exception of the left heel bone.”
The Russian Orthodox Church attributed the opening of the tombs to renovation work and proposed sending part of the relics to the “Special Military Operation” zone. “The opportunity for such veneration must be provided to Orthodox servicemen as soon as possible,” said Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy head of the Synodal Department for Church-Society Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, on Thursday.
During his visit to the cathedral, Putin approved the Russian Orthodox Church’s plans regarding the relics.
“I spoke with His Holiness yesterday; I am aware of his plans [regarding the relics of Dmitry Donskoy]. Please convey my best wishes to him,” Putin said.
As a reminder, in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast, Russian military personnel allegedly lost part of the relics of Prince Alexander Nevsky. The relic was being transported for a prayer service due to the fuel crisis in Russia and occupied Crimea, but the convoy came under attack.
In Dobropillia, Donetsk Oblast, a thief stole the relics of St. George the Victorious from a local church in broad daylight and took them to his home because he had heard of their healing powers. He is being charged by the police with desecration of a corpse.
