VIDEO: Police in Germany used water cannons to cool people down during a record-breaking heat wave
In Germany, due to an abnormal heat wave in which temperatures exceeded +40°C, police used water cannons to help people cool off.
In the footage released, residents can be seen happily running under powerful jets of water.
Meanwhile, in the village of Drewitz, a new national temperature record was set at +41.5°C, the highest reading in the history of weather observations.

The extreme heat in Europe has led to at least 18 deaths.
