Video: Ukrainian man interrupts live broadcast in Poland and leaves the country over fears of deportation
In Warsaw, Ukrainian citizen Oleksandr Shevchenko interrupted a live broadcast by a Polish TV channel outside the prosecutor’s office and urged Poles not to use offensive language toward Ukrainians. After the incident, the man stated that he had left Poland out of fear of possible deportation.
During the broadcast, Shevchenko addressed the Polish public, emphasizing that he loves Poland and the Polish people, and asked them not to tell Ukrainians, “Go back to Ukraine.” According to him, he decided to speak out “on behalf of all Ukrainians” after seeing journalists and politicians near the prosecutor’s office building.
Later, the blogger reported on social media that, after consulting with a lawyer, he had decided to leave Poland. Although, in his words, he had not broken the law, he feared possible consequences due to the public outcry surrounding the incident.
Shevchenko also claims that on the very evening after the broadcast, unknown individuals came to his residence looking for him. After that, he packed his things and left the country.
According to the blogger, he is currently working with lawyers and is prepared to challenge any potential decisions regarding his stay in Poland.
