Eight countries condemned Israel's rejection of Trump's plan for Gaza
The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have condemned Israel’s rejection of the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in the Gaza Strip. The foreign ministers of the eight countries issued a joint statement on Sunday, according to Deutsche Welle.
The statement came a week after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the 15-point plan for Gaza. He stated that Israeli troops would not leave the Strip until Hamas was completely disarmed.
The roadmap, developed by the Peace Council, calls for the withdrawal of Israeli troops as Hamas surrenders its weapons. Afterward, security in the Gaza Strip is to be provided by an international stabilization force alongside a new Palestinian police force. Last month, the Peace Council announced that it had reached an agreement on the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.

Foreign ministers stated that rejecting the roadmap amounts to a refusal to implement the comprehensive plan and threatens to derail Trump’s efforts to end the war and create conditions for a lasting peace. They also held Israel responsible for obstructing peace efforts in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Meanwhile, talks on a ceasefire and the implementation of agreements were taking place in Cairo. U.S. Envoy Jared Kushner and Nikolay Mladenov, the Peace Council’s representative for Gaza, met with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Khalil al-Hayya, the leader of Hamas, also joined the talks.
In late July, Hamas stated that it would transfer weapons to the new Palestinian governing body in Gaza under the supervision of the Peace Council, but did not use the term “disarmament.” The foreign ministers of eight countries called on the United States and the Peace Council to take immediate and concrete measures within their authority to preserve the integrity of the plan and prevent any party from blocking it.
