Wizz Air is launching new flights to Egyptian resorts and expanding its route network in Europe

The Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced a major expansion of its flight schedule to popular Egyptian resort destinations. The new routes will allow tourists to book flights on their own, without the services of tour operators.

The airline will launch flights to Marsa Alam, Hurghada, and Sharm el-Sheikh from several Polish cities.

Starting July 4, 2026, Wizz Air will operate the following flights:

  • Gdańsk–Marsa Alamonce a week, and three times a week starting October 26;
  • Kraków – Marsa Alamtwice a week, and starting October 26five times a week;
  • Katowice – Marsa Alamonce a week, and three times a week starting October 26.

Also, starting October 26, 2026, flights from Warsaw-Modlin to Marsa Alam will begin, operating three times a week.

On October 26–27, 2026, the company will launch new routes:

  • Warsaw-Modlin–Hurghadathree times a week;
  • Wrocław–Hurghadathree times a week;
  • Katowice–Hurghadathree times a week.

Starting October 27, 2026, Wizz Air will operate the following flights:

  • Warsaw-Modlin – Sharm el-Sheikhtwice a week, and three times a week starting December 8;
  • Gdańsk–Sharm el-Sheikhtwice a week;
  • Katowice–Sharm el-Sheikhtwice a week.

Tickets for the new flights and pricing information are not yet available in the Wizz Air booking system.

In addition to the Egyptian route, starting October 26, 2026, Wizz Air will increase the number of flights between Warsaw-Chopin Airport and Lyon, France—flights will operate four times a week.

The airline will also expand its route network to Turin, Italy, by launching flights from:

  • Prague;
  • Gdańsk;
  • Katowice;
  • Wrocław.

In this way, Wizz Air continues to actively expand its route network, offering passengers more opportunities for independent travel to popular tourist destinations.

Previously, the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced the expansion of its base at Chisinau Airport, which serves as an important logistics hub for Ukrainian travelers. Starting September 18, 2026, the airline will station a fifth aircraft in the Moldovan capital, which will add more than 500,000 passenger seats per year.

German airline Lufthansa has officially announced a forced increase in ticket prices and a reduction in its flight schedule. 

British airlines have been allowed to cancel or consolidate flights to save on jet fuel. In this way, authorities are trying to avoid widespread disruptions during the summer season
