Starting June 8, vehicle traffic will be temporarily restricted at the border with Romania
Starting June 8, temporary restrictions on vehicles will be introduced at the "Solotvyno–Sighetu Marmatiei" border crossing on the Ukrainian-Romanian border. This is due to repair and infrastructure work on the bridge over the Tisa River, which connects the two countries.
Due to the work, vehicle traffic through the border crossing will be partially restricted during specific hours. At the same time, pedestrians will still be able to cross the state border without any changes or additional restrictions.
When will the restrictions be in effect?
According to information from the Romanian side, vehicle traffic through the "Solotvyno–Sighetu Marmației" border crossing point will be temporarily suspended from June 8 to June 17, 2026.
The restrictions will be in effect daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The reason is infrastructure work on the historic bridge across the Tisa River, which connects Ukraine and Romania.
Who will be able to cross the border
The State Customs Service clarified that the restrictions will apply only to vehicles.
At the same time, pedestrian traffic through the border crossing point during this period will proceed as usual.
