Zelenskyy arrived in Damascus on an official visit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Syrian capital on April 5 for an official visit.
The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel. The main goal of the trip is to strengthen Ukrainian diplomacy in the region, discuss issues of real security, and establish economic cooperation.
The visit’s agenda includes several substantive rounds of talks aimed at developing international cooperation. Zelenskyy emphasized that every region and people deserve a peaceful life, and Ukraine continues to actively work on the international stage to achieve stability. This visit comes amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran, as well as reports of Russian intelligence involvement in Middle Eastern affairs.
Currently, details of the planned meeting formats are not being disclosed for security reasons. It is expected that the results of the talks in Damascus will help strengthen Ukraine’s position in the Middle East.
