A woman in Canada gave birth in her sleep, and the baby was found under a blanket

In Canada, a 27-year-old woman gave birth while asleep after receiving an epidural. Medical staff discovered the newborn just a few minutes later under the blankets when they were unable to detect a fetal heartbeat.

Carolina Moreno, a mother of three, recounted this unusual incident herself, and her story went viral on TikTok.

According to her, she fell asleep after receiving the epidural, and the delivery happened so quickly that neither she, her husband, nor the medical staff noticed it. When the monitor stopped detecting the baby’s heartbeat, the doctors began checking and found a baby boy under the blankets on the hospital bed.

“I swear, I thought it was as if my placenta or my uterus had popped out. I never thought it would be my baby. (The nurse) lifted the blanket, and my son was lying face down under all my blankets,” the woman recalls.

At first, the newborn didn’t cry, which frightened his mother. However, the nurse quickly lifted the baby, and the boy began to cry. Later, the doctors confirmed that he was born perfectly healthy.

Carolina Moreno’s son is now three months old. According to his mother, despite the stress she went through, the baby is growing up healthy and has had a calm disposition since birth.
