Polish ministry condemns hate speech after incidents involving Ukrainians
Poland's Ministry of the Interior and Administration said incitement to hatred and insults based on nationality, ethnic origin, race or religion are unacceptable. The ministry said police would respond after several incidents in which Ukrainians in Poland faced aggression based on their nationality. The statement was published on X.
The Polish ministry said police respond to hate speech both online and in public spaces, while also providing education, preventing violations and holding offenders accountable. “The Polish police respond to hate speech — both online and in public spaces. We educate, prevent and hold accountable those who break the law,” the ministry said.
According to European Pravda, a group of Polish men attacked a young Ukrainian couple in Wrocław, allegedly after hearing their accent. The suspects were remanded in custody for three months.

Police in Kraków opened criminal proceedings over threats and discrimination based on nationality following an incident in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. According to the publication, an employee of a Polish company used gross insults against Ukrainian workers.
Another incident occurred on a train near Warsaw, where two men harassed a Ukrainian passenger. After the conductor and other passengers intervened, the men were removed from the carriage and were later fined by police.
