Zelenskyy heard Drapato's report and announced new missile packages for air defense
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapati, during which they discussed the situation on the front lines, strengthening defenses in the Donetsk region, strikes against Russia’s strategic infrastructure, and providing Ukraine with air defense capabilities.
According to the head of state, there is a clear understanding of how to strengthen defenses in the Donetsk sector, and efforts to destroy strategic targets on Russian territory will continue.
“We have a clear understanding of how to strengthen our defenses in that sector. We discussed measures regarding long-range sanctions against Russia for the war. Good results have been achieved regarding the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery. We are continuing these operations,” Zelenskyy stated.
Special attention was paid during the meeting to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense. The president reported that work is ongoing with partners to secure new missile packages.
“We are working at all levels to secure missile packages for air defense. All partners understand what is needed and how this affects not only saving lives and protecting our cities, but also Russia’s attitude toward diplomacy,” he emphasized.
Zelenskyy also noted that personnel issues within the Ukrainian army were discussed during the meeting.

Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s ballistic defense with the British Defense Minister.
British Defense Minister Wes Streeting made his first visit to Kyiv since taking office. He came to personally assess Ukraine’s needs ahead of the winter season and determine the next steps for military support.
Zelenskyy suggested that Ukraine is being denied air defense missiles in order to coerce it into negotiations with Russia.
