Brad Pitt made a stern demand of Angelina Jolie in court
The legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has taken a new turn. The actor has filed a motion asking the court to order his ex-wife to provide financial documents regarding her income since the divorce. The couple continues to battle in court over issues related to their joint property.
According to court documents, Pitt’s lawyers are insisting that Jolie disclose information about her income for 2017–2019, including film fees, payments from advertising contracts, and information on profits from film projects. According to the actor’s representatives, Jolie previously submitted documents only for 2020 and 2021, refusing to provide data for the preceding period.
The request is related to the ongoing dispute over the French winery Château Miraval. Pitt believes that the financial documents will help verify his ex-wife’s claims that, following the divorce, she was forced to sell her stake in the family business in order to achieve financial independence.
For their part, Jolie’s representatives object to the actor’s demands. They argue that Pitt is attempting to gain access to personal financial information that is irrelevant to the case. According to the actress’s defense team, her statements about seeking “financial independence” referred solely to her desire to sever all financial ties with her ex-husband, rather than indicating financial difficulties.
