Neutrogena stated that Hayden Panettiere felt unsupported
The skincare brand Neutrogena stated that its former brand ambassador, Hayden Panettiere, felt unsupported during a difficult time in her life. The company released a statement four days after the 36-year-old actress was found dead at a residential complex in Greenville, South Carolina, according to The Guardian.
Neutrogena said it was deeply saddened by Panettiere’s death, describing her as a valued member of the brand’s community. The actress had been associated with the company for ten years, starting in 2005. The manufacturer did not specify what circumstances it was referring to, but the statement came after criticism on social media and calls to boycott the brand.
In a May interview with podcaster Jay Shetty, Panettiere said that Neutrogena, according to her, ended its partnership with her after she spoke about her experience with postpartum depression during a live broadcast. The actress explained that she hadn’t planned to bring up the topic but decided to speak honestly about her own experience.

Panettiere also claimed that her representative told the company that firing her for this reason would be illegal. At the same time, she believed that after a decade of collaboration, she would not be invited to renew her contract. According to the actress, no one from the company said goodbye to her, and this hurt her deeply.
Neutrogena promised to make a significant contribution to a long-standing partner in the field of public health so that more women could receive the necessary support, including assistance with postpartum depression. The Greenville Coroner’s Office has completed Panettiere’s autopsy, but the cause of her death is still being determined.
